Good Afternoon Northeastern High School Parents,
This is Superintendent, Lou Kramer, calling with an update on the security measures taken at Northeastern High School. As you already know, the high school made several additional security precautions today in response to a threat of violence written on a bathroom stall at NEHS. This morning in the interest of safety, school officials conducted searches as students entered the building. In addition, Sheriff’s Deputies were on hand throughout the day for added support and will continue to offer support throughout the week. Despite the added precautions, school began only a few minutes behind schedule and a safe and productive day was had in our classrooms.
Both the school and Sheriff’s Department are continuing an open investigation to determine who may be responsible for the threat. If the person can be identified, they will face significant school discipline and will be criminally prosecuted. We are thankful for the several tips reported to the school administration and also via the district safety tip line regarding this situation.
Attendance this morning was lower than a usual day but did improve as the day progressed. Absences due to parent choice today will be recorded but will be marked as excused.
We know we live in a time when threats must be taken seriously. We appreciate the support of our students, staff, parents, and community in helping us make our schools as safe as possible and helping to make today a successful day at school.
Thank you and have a great afternoon.

Good Evening Northeastern High School Parents,
This is Lou Kramer, District Superintendent, with an important announcement. During the late afternoon on Friday, a written message threatening an act of violence was discovered on the wall of a bathroom stall at Northeastern High School. The threat was general in nature and did not mention a certain student or group of students. Given the nature of the message, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department was immediately contacted and an investigation by both school officials as well as the Sheriff’s Department commenced.
Tomorrow morning, school will open at Northeastern High School and all schools across the district. Based on consultation from the Sheriff’s Department, enhanced security measures have been put in place to increase the safety of all of our students and staff. Sheriff Department personnel will be on hand to assist school personnel in the safe and orderly beginning to our school day and will be available whenever needed.
Please understand that this situation has and must be taken seriously. Please talk to your child, if you or your child has any information which can help the school or the Sheriff’s Department, please contact the district anonymous safety tip line at 937-568-7117 or building personnel. The Safety Tip line is also located on the top left corner of the district webpage.
Our district holds the safety of our schools as our top priority. We appreciate the support of our parents and community as we work to keep all of our students and staff safe.
Thank you and have a good evening.
