Learn about world cultures from Northeastern Local School District students at the NELSD Cultural Fair on April 18.
Hosted by the Kenton Ridge International Club, 6th through 12th grade students from across the district have been invited to participate in the Cultural Fair. Students will select a country and create a presentation about the cultural identity and economic and geographical make-up of that country.
Prizes will be awarded to students who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Cultural Fair. The event is open to the public.
The International Club was founded by Jacquelyn Newberry and is advised by Les Dobyns. The purpose of the club is to raise cultural awareness and to promote studying abroad and hosting for students that are from other countries. The club has participated in group activities with foreign exchange students from other schools, including bowling and pot luck carry-ins, and the students are excited to share their interest in learning about other cultures with their fellow students and the community.
