The Northeastern Local School District will host two opportunities in April for community members to learn more about the facilities vote on the May 8 ballot.
The district will host two community forums:
- 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at Northeastern High School
- 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Kenton Ridge High School
The forum will cover the details of a proposed tax issue on the May 8 ballot to fund the construction of two preschool through 12th grade campuses - one on property adjacent to South Vienna School and the other behind the current Kenton Ridge property. The state would contribute about 40 percent of the basic educational program costs of the project through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission.
Due to the age and condition of the district's current facilities, Northeastern students and teachers face challenges like leaking roofs, poor air quality, heating and air conditioning regulation, plumbing problems, and other issues. The bond issue would use the state’s funding offer to reduce the cost of addressing these issues for the community.
To find out more, join NELSD at 7 p.m. on April 3 at Northeastern High School or 7 p.m. on April 4 at Kenton Ridge High School for the community forums.
